Springtime, Springtime, Springtime!
It’s springtime, springtime, springtime! Now, I know it’s still snowing in some parts of the country and sorrier I could not be. But most states are coming into their time of sunshine (sans the snow) and the blooms of spring.
When the sun starts to shine more and days get longer, many get a rush of energy. As a result, the age-old tradition of spring cleaning begins. Seems like the grayness and gloom of winter saps our energy and so that “from top to bottom” cleaning tends to be put off. So, even though we may not necessarily look forward to it, come spring, it has to be done.
I’ve put together some tips on how to get that deep spring-cleaning started and done. First of all, sure, you can just hire a house cleaning service. Nothing wrong with that, especially if you’ve skipped the last couple of years of spring cleaning. Consequently, sites like angieslist.com help you to find local and reputable company’s for things just like this. So, if time is of importance or you just don’t feel up to the cleaning challenge, hire away and just sit back and relax.
If you prefer to tackle the spring cleaning challenge like a pro but on your own, then here are a few things you may not have considered:
Your dishwasher cleans your dishes, yes, but it needs to be cleaned as well! Remove any food particles from the bottom and then run it sans dishes with a good dish washing cleanser and a little splash of bleach. Actually, Clorox has a dish washing liquid that now includes bleach. I use it and it is awesome!
You may have build-up on your wooden cabinets from food splatter or just dust and dirt that settle and stick. Get a good cream cleanser that cuts through grease and dirt and moisturizes your wood at the same time. Try Parker & Bailey Kitchen Cabinet Cream, amazon.com, only about $7 per bottle.
Ugggh, fingerprints and oil on stainless steel appliances! Not only is it unsightly but they are not always the easiest to remove. To get that “brand new” look try a great product like Homax Stainless Steel Magic Aerosol, amazon.com, about $5 per bottle. Don’t use too much though because it might leave residue. You want sparkle, not dull.
Probably the most dreaded of the cleaning is the bathrooms. And it’s not so much the bathroom…it’s the bathtub and shower walls am I right? Well don’t wait one more second to make this easier for yourself all year round. In fact, you’ll look forward to cleaning when you consider you have THE HURRICANE. This spinning tub and shower wall scrubber will get rid of those spots that stick in just a few seconds!
There are PLENTY of cleaning tips to get around, these are just a few. Hope it gets you off to a good start. Happy spring and happy spring cleaning!
